Blood tests can give us a wealth of information about your pet’s health. For example, our Maldon vets can work out if your pet is dehydrated, has underlying kidney disease or liver changes, and we can get lots of information about your pet’s red and white blood cells. All of this helps diagnose any underlying health problems and ultimately will improve the level of care we can provide to your pet.
All bloods tests are sent to an external laboratory where they are processed by experts. We will provide these results to you over the phone or in a follow-up consultation.
Cytology is the study of cells or samples under a microscope. These tests are useful for identifying infection ie. Swabs of itchy ears, or determining lumps and bumps. Where possible we will conduct these tests in-house, however in more complex cases we will send the samples off to an external laboratory to be tested more thoroughly.
